5-Step Programme to Recovery

Northland DHB offers the 5-Step Programme through Te Ara Oranga.

The 5-Step Method helps affected family members where they have loved ones with addiction problems. It is one of the few methods that helps gives support to family member for themselves in their own right.

the 5-Step Programme and how it can support whānau.

Annwyn Cater-Kelly was called to the Emergency Department after her son had had an overdose. As a part of the Te Ara Oranga Brief Intervention and Screening process in ED Annwyn was asked if she was ok – and she wasn’t. Annwyn was referred to the 5-Step Programme delivered by The Salvation Army.

In this video Annwyn Carter-Kelly shares her journey with Te Ara Oranga and the 5-Step Programme which has supported her on the road of recovery.
