Operational Guidelines
- Setup
- Site Preparation: All the groundwork will be done for you
- Power: The unit comes with its own power supply and is powered by a 16amp caravan plug. If a new location is requested and if it is suitable, a 16amp plug will be installed.
- Data Connectivity: Built-in solutions for seamless data transfer.
- Operations
- Staff Training: Comprehensive training is provided.
- Staff IT Specific: Dedicated IT staff to manage the IT issues
- Safety Protocols: All necessary safety measures are in place.
- Liability
- Liability is as with any other fleet vehicle and is covered by insurance. The service responsible at the time of incident however is liable for the excess
- Description
- The vehicle is a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 519 and is fitted with many special features that support you to drive the vehicle safely. The pahi is 7.4 m in length, 2.0m in width. 2.7 high. She is diesel only. The Mercedes-Benz is equipped with MB Sixth Sense Safety to keep you as safe as possible while on the road, this system is designed to assist you and should not be relied upon. The system includes; Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Rear Cross Alert, Lane Keep Assist, Crosswind Assist, Attention Assist, Headlight Assist, Hill Start Assist, Rain Sensor, 360 Reversing Camera and sensors, and Active Distance Assist.
Limitations
General Limitations
- No Wheelchair Access: The van is not designed to accommodate wheelchairs.
- High BMI Restrictions: Due to limited internal space and a bed capacity of up to 180kgs, the van may not be suitable for individuals with a high BMI.
- Limited Space: The van cannot accommodate multiple family members; only one support person is recommended.
- Accessibility: The van is not suitable for individuals who are unable to climb steps.
- No metal roads
Clinical Limitations
- Service Criteria: The clinical ‘out of scope’ criteria is determined by the service provider. They are responsible for defining who is in scope and who is out of scope for the service.
- Operational Aspects: The van is part of a larger fleet and is sort of ‘hired’ from the pool. The service provider is responsible for providing the driver, consumables, and staff. If they are unable to provide a driver, a contracted driving service will be used.
