About the Role and Service
Our Emergency Nurse Practitioner team practice independently and collaboratively to utilise advanced health assessment, diagnosis and treatment implementation in both adult and paediatric patients to reduce waiting times, reduce ED length of stay and increase patient satisfaction for people presenting to the Emergency Department.
The role also provides clinical expertise and leadership to optimise patient outcomes and develop effective models of care in the department through quality initiatives, teaching, and mentoring.
Applicants who have Clinical Nurse Specialist training are welcomed to apply as there may be potential for training and registration to gain your Nurse Practitioner registration.
About you
Essential Skills & Experience
- Current Nursing Registration in New Zealand with a current Practicing Certificate
- Minimum 3-5 years’ recent experience in Emergency Nursing
- Expert PDRP
- Completion of the NPTP with recognised Nurse Practitioner registration OR on the PG pathway to completion of approved master’s within ED to be eligible to start NPTP
- Computer literacy
Ideally you will hold a Master’s in advanced nursing or working towards, along with a completion of Advanced Emergency Nursing Practicum paper or similar.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
