As an Emergency Registrar at Health New Zealand you will gain excellent practical experience in managing very sick patients reflecting the high health needs of the region. Road trauma, farm trauma, beach trauma: you name it and we look after it.

About Our Service

  • Accredited for 24 months ACEM advanced training and paediatric logbook requirements.
  • Work side by side with a dedicated team including 23 very experienced Emergency Physicians.
  • Close supervision for trainees with a weekly commitment to clinical teaching.
  • Gain experience in many procedures and develop your clinical skills
  • Rotations to other specialty services (ICU, Anaesthetics, Paediatrics, and Medicine) are established
  • Well supported by all the other services. Emergency Medicine staff actively utilise ultrasound in their patient care, with two machines in the ED including the latest sonosite.
