About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide accurate and timely coding of diseases and procedures for all patient discharged from the hospital. There is high demand to meet deadlines and to maintain accuracy and quality of information in line with NDHB and MoH requirements. You will need to have a high attention to detail, accuracy and proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload.

About you

Experienced Level 2 Clinical Coder or above applicants only, not a trainee position.

  • Medical Terminology & Clinical Coding qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 months experience as a clinical coder and/or experience using 3M codefinder software
  • Minimum two years previous health related clerical / clinical record / nursing or clinical experience
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
