The Mental Health and Addiction Services at Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work in the General Adult Psychiatry team. This is a part-time, permanent role based in Whangārei, Northland.
Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau provides a specialist clinical mental health and addiction service to the Northland region, from north of Wellsford to Cape Reinga serving a growing population of around 190,000. These services are designed to cater for people with significant mental illness and/or addiction that is beyond the scope of primary care services.
Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua as the highest priority.
As our Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide general adult community based clinical care to Whangārei and may include our rural based clinics. You will have the opportunity to work with specific groups of clients such as those that require intensive community treatment or crisis work. You will join a multidisciplinary team in both our Mental Health and Addiction Services where you will play a key role in providing clinical leadership to the wider team.
