1920 - Maternity Annexe Featured in Northern Advocate

On January 10, 1920, the Northern Advocate newspaper ran a feature on the hospital, which included this description of the maternity annexe:

“Of this accommodation one need but remark on the perfect provisions, quiet atmosphere, spotless cleanliness, the lady doctor and the eighty erstwhile enthusiastic patients. The services of Dr Frazerhurst and Dr Grace Stevenson, anaesthetics if necessary, and three weeks’ ideal attention for the sum of five guineas [5.5 [pounds sterling] s or $10.50] is but another way of affirming that science and social service are friendly.”
