The Northland District is experiencing a shortage of professional workers in Primary Care – a situation that has been exacerbated by high population growth in recent years, along with a significant high-needs population when compared to other parts of the country.
In 2021 the Northland District Health Board established a programme to support the needs of the general practice and primary health care workforce within Te Tai Tokerau.
